UX Design and Development
For six years, I have both developed and designed websites for businesses, events, and nonprofits, ranging from simple to graphically and technically complex sites. My design emphasizes effective and accessible communication, ensuring striking visual allure while paying keen attention to flexibility, flow, browsing speed and ease. My design involves consistent, strong thematic elements that tie closely with the goals of the project. I am well-versed with CSS and HTML5. I'm also proficient with developing PHP and Javascript applications for the web, working with a MySQL database backend, Apache server software, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Flash.

My duties at the Texas Public Employees Association also include magazine design, which holds many stylistic and design similarities to web design. The covers, graphics, and full interiors of the most recent issues of their magazine, the Texas Public Employee, contain my design and artwork.
The hospitality industry increasing relies on concise, informative websites to drive guests to their doors. This Victorian Bed and Breakfast owner wanted an elegant design that also communicated the important information quickly. Because the user wanted to edit the page themselves with limited HTML knowledge, certain portions were streamlined for ease of editing without actually employing a content management system.
Because this was a media piece for a theatrical production, I was able to create a more conceptual website. A musical about Homer's Odyssey, I based the website off of the idea of picking up pieces of Ostrakon (pottery shards that archeologists use to learn about ancient Greece) out of the dirt to "discover" more about the show itself.
This personal protection product website has a large number of products that had to be easily sorted and categorized, and includes a custom-made pricing request system.
This large and complex site for a non-profit association includes a PHP membership management application with a MySQL database that registers new users and provides them access to a member's only section, based on the open-source Quadodo login system. I also manage their social media presence, periodic surveys, and large blast email list.
